Login & Account
This page explains how to get into the portal: creating an account, logging in, resetting your password, claiming an account when staff created one for you, and accepting a family invitation.
Creating a New Account
- Go to https://portal.uibeta.org/register.
- Enter your name, your Email, and type it again in Confirm email. If the two do not match, you will see "Email addresses do not match." Phone is optional.
- Choose a Password (at least 8 characters) and type it again in Confirm Password.
- Click Register.
- You will be signed in. Use the top links Membership, Classes, and Events to browse, or open your account menu for Overview and more.
Check for email typos
If your email looks like it has a common typo (for example gmial.com or yaho.com), a note asks "Did you mean …?" Click Use with the suggested domain to fix it, or Keep what I typed if your address is correct. We can't reach you if the address is wrong.
If your email already has an account: You will see "An account with this email already exists," with links to Sign in or reset your password (Forgot password?). If the account was set up for you but never activated (for example you were a member on the old website), we email you a link to set your password instead.
Verifying your email: After you register, we send a verification link to your email. Until you click it, a banner at the top of the portal says "Please verify your email address." You can click Resend verification email in that banner to get a new link. Each link works once and expires after 24 hours.
Use this flow if you do not yet have an account and want to join or sign up for classes and events.
Logging In
- Go to https://portal.uibeta.org/login.
- Enter your email address and password. Capital letters in your email do not matter;
Jane@Example.comandjane@example.comare the same account. - Click Sign In.
- You will be taken to your account or the page you were trying to reach.
If you opened a page that needs you to be signed in, the sign-in page shows "You're not signed in. Please sign in to continue, or register for an account if you don't have one yet." After you sign in, you go straight back to that page.
First time here, or never set a password? Click Activate your account under the sign-in form. See Claiming an Account below.
If you have an account already, use this page whenever you need to sign in.
Forgot Password / Reset Password
- Go to https://portal.uibeta.org/login.
- Click Forgot password? (or the similar link).
- Enter your email address and submit. You will receive an email with a link to set a new password.
- Open the email and click the link. It will take you to a page where you can enter and confirm your new password.
- Save your new password. You can then log in at https://portal.uibeta.org/login with your email and the new password.
The link in the email is valid for a limited time. If it has expired, use Forgot password? again to get a new link.
Claiming an Account (Claim Link from Staff)
Sometimes staff create an account for you (for example when adding you as a family member or setting up your membership). In that case you may receive an email with a “claim your account” or “set your password” link.
New here? Start with the claim guide
For a friendly, step-by-step walkthrough — including what to do if your link expired, how member and family accounts differ, and moving over from the old Upstate International website — see Claiming Your Account.
Switching from the old website?
If you were a member on the previous Upstate International website, you will use this same claim link to set up your Member Portal account in July 2026. Follow the same steps below.
- Open the email and click the claim link.
- You will be taken to a Set Your Password page.
- Enter and confirm a new password (at least 8 characters) and click Set Password. Your account is then claimed, and you are taken to the sign-in page to log in with your email and new password.
No email? Go to https://portal.uibeta.org/login, click Activate your account, enter your email, and click Send Claim Link. If an account exists for that email, we send you a link or a 6-digit verification code to set your password.
Claim links expire
Claim links are valid for a limited time and work only once. If your link has expired or was already used, request a new one with Activate your account on the sign-in page, or contact Upstate International staff and ask for a new claim link.
Staying Logged In (Session Persistence)
If you stay on the same device and browser, you usually remain logged in when you close the tab and come back later. You may stay signed in until you log out or until the session expires after a period of inactivity. If you open the portal in a new browser or another device, you will need to log in again with your email and password.
Payment History
Your Payment History page is a single, complete record of every payment you've made — membership dues, classes, event registrations, one-time gifts, and recurring-gift charges — all in one reverse-chronological list, not split up by type.
- Open your account menu and choose Activity, then choose Payment History (or go straight to https://portal.uibeta.org/account/activity/transactions).
- Each row shows the date, a short description, the category, and the total amount you were charged.
- Click a row to expand it and see the full breakdown: the individual items, the subtotal, any discount, the processing fee, and the total.
About the processing fee
The processing fee line is the card-processing surcharge that was optionally added at checkout to cover the cost of accepting your card — it is not a fee Upstate International keeps. On a gift where you chose to cover the fee, that amount appears here as its own line so the gift amount and the fee stay separate. See Giving → Cover the Processing Fee for how that works.
You can filter the list by calendar year using the filter at the top of the page — useful when you're pulling together records for tax time. If you have more than 25 payments, click Load more to see older ones.
Payment History is read-only — there's no download, resend, or email-this option on the page itself. Your tax receipts and confirmation emails are still sent automatically at the time of each payment (see Giving → Your Tax Receipt); Payment History is for looking back at what you've paid, not for re-sending documents.
Only the account owner can see Payment History. If you're a family member on someone else's account, you won't see a Payment History card on the Activity hub, and going to the page directly will show a message that it isn't available to you — contact your account owner if you need a record of a payment.
Accepting a Family Invitation
If someone in your household added you as a family member, you will receive an email with an invitation link.
- Open the email and click the invitation link. It will take you to a page like https://portal.uibeta.org/invitation/... (the link contains a unique token).
- If you already have an account: sign in when prompted. You will then be linked to that household’s membership.
- If you do not have an account: you will be asked to create one (email and password). After you complete registration, you will be linked as a family member.
If you already have an account, sign in with the same email address the invitation was sent to, then click Accept Invitation. If the invitation has expired or was already used, ask the person who invited you to send a new one.
Once you have accepted, you will appear under Family in the account menu of the person who invited you, and you may have access to member benefits under that membership.
When the Portal Is Down for Maintenance
Occasionally the portal is taken offline briefly for an update. During that time every page shows "Pardon our progress… We'll be back shortly." Nothing is wrong with your account; wait a few minutes and try again. If you were in the middle of checkout, check your email and your account for a confirmation before trying to pay again.
Need help? Contact Upstate International staff if you cannot log in, did not receive a reset or claim email, or need a new invitation or claim link.
